I spent a considerable amount of time researching the multi-engine aircraft market and, in my opinion, there is simply no contender that comes anywhere near Diamond and the DA62. Safety was the absolute number one priority, with this aircraft ticking all the right boxes in so many respects. Additionally, the design, airframe, propulsion and avionics, including 7 seats, 2,300 kg MTOM, Jet-A1 fuel, single lever power settings, protected fuel tanks and TKS, to name just a few, all contribute in making this a really state-of-the-art and very special aircraft for me.

The DA42-VI is wonderful. She does everything you promised. TAS 175-180 with a fuel burn of 13 gph total at altitude. Climbs like a rocket through the ice layer, 1350 fpm and still 1100-1200 at altitude. Radar is great. Use it a lot. Data link is great. Weather and sending emails and SMS at altitude. I don't think there is any other piston twin that comes close price/performance-wise. For those of us who don't want to spend what it takes to fly a turboprop, the DA42-VI is the perfect airplane. Just flew to Oxford England this afternoon. The flight deck was busy. All the tools came into play. What a dream machine!

Taking delivery of a brand new DA40 NG was a dream come true. I have been the happy owner of a DA42 and had long wanted to add a sister single engine plane alongside the twin (for my owner-run rental business). I took the plunge and ordered the DA40 NG. She is beautifully designed and has a character that shows through as you warm her up, playfully waiting to launch herself into the world. This plane soars rather than just takes off. In her short time in the UK, she has been all over Europe, including down as far as Portugal, and has won many fans.
