The DA50 RG offers a truly exhilarating flying experience, both for pilots and passengers alike. The extra-wide cabin provides ample legroom, headroom, and adjustable seating to ensure a comfortable journey for you and your passengers. Large gull-wing doors facilitate easy entry and exit, while generous and accessible baggage compartments cater to your storage needs. Personalize your aircraft with a range of luxury interior options, including LED lighting, removable right-hand controls, oxygen system, electric climate control, TKS ice protection, Garmin GCU 476 keypad, or built-in tablet mounts. The DA50 RG cockpit also offers unique features such as pilot and co-pilot sunshades, optional built-in tablet mounts, electric adjustable rudder pedals for both pilot and co-pilot, optional oxygen system, center armrest (with optional keypad), and optional TKS ice protection (cockpit control panel operation).

Propulsion, Avionics and Airframe

The fully integrated Garmin G1000NXi flight deck, standard 3-axis GFC700 Autopilot, and yaw damper with Electronic Stability and Protection are complemented by a long list of avionics options to perfectly suit your mission. Traffic Advisory, Synthetic Vision, and more are available. For ease of maintenance and troubleshooting, Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) are housed in a dedicated, externally accessible forward avionics bay. The Garmin GCU 476 alphanumeric keypad is an available option on the DA50 RG, making programming the Garmin G1000 NXi easier than ever. Tomorrow’s composite technology in today’s airframe design. Constructed from carbon fiber, the DA50 RG features advanced aerodynamics with smooth surfaces and impressive ramp appeal. Diamond’s robust airframes offer unlimited life, allowing you to fly as many hours as you wish and ensuring a high resale value. Additionally, they are durable, low-maintenance, and designed to look great for years to come. Several features have been developed for the DA50 RG to ensure the best flight performance, such as hinged double-slotted wings, specifically designed for high lift and superior low-speed behavior, and numerous drag reduction features. State-of-the- art brakes and wheels guarantee maximum performance with minimum ground roll. The DA50 RG is powered by the 300 hp Continental Aerospace Technologies CD-300. The CD-300 is a geared, liquid-cooled, turbocharged, 1 jet-A1 fueled engine controlled by a full dual redundant FADEC. Pilot workload is reduced through the use of a single power lever that automatically adjusts both thrust and propeller RPM. The added benefits of operating a jet-fueled aircraft include low emissions, low fuel consumption, and global availability. The 3-blade MT hydraulic variable pitch propeller offers advanced blade geometry with state-of-the-art aerodynamic blade profiles for efficient performance, smoothness, and low noise. The blades are manufactured in a natural composite design, resulting in exceptional vibration damping behavior and reduced weight.

Exterior Design Competition

On May 15th, 2019, Diamond launched a unique competition for any aviation enthusiast: designing an aircraft exterior paint scheme. Diamond offered the #DiamondAircraftFamily a chance to connect more closely with the company and invited submissions for a paint scheme design for the DA50 RG demonstration aircraft. Over a three-month period, Diamond received an incredible number of well-thought-out designs. A wide variety of concepts were presented, ranging from bird and race-inspired designs to those that aligned with Diamond's classic elegance. Some even deeply moved the judges with the stories and intentions behind the designs. Kirk Smith, a Digital Artist and the winner of the DA50 Exterior Design Contest, stated: 'As a digital artist, I often find myself tasked with merging aesthetic design with the intricacies of aviation. With the help of Diamond Aircraft Industries, I had the opportunity to leave a small mark on the aviation community and it is truly humbling to be able to contribute in such a way. As a hobbyist private pilot, I was able to combine my artistic identity with aviation. I hope pilots, designers, and enthusiasts alike will appreciate my design and I wish the Diamond Aircraft team and the DA50 RG every success.' "
